Dennis John Goodwin, 55 of Charlotte Hall, MD died on August 5, 2009 at his residence.

Born on September 24, 1953 in Bethesda, MD, he was the son of Theresa Martin Monaghan Goodwin and the late Charles Xavier Goodwin, Sr. Mr. Goodwin served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a Merchant Marine and a member of the Seafarers International Union. Dennis was last employed by the Alaska Tanker Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He ate everything he harvested and was well known for his bambi burgers as per his nieces.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his siblings & their spouses, Charles X., Jr. & Barbara Goodwin, Margaret Goodwin, Paul G. & Susan Goodwin, Julia R. Goodwin, Judith & David Gerlitz, Dorothy L. & Michael Watson, Cecilia T. & John Alcorn; aunts, Dorothy Thomasen and Anne McNulty, and uncle, William V. Goodwin, II, and many other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends for a Life Celebration on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 2-5 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD where Services will be held at 5 p.m. Interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
