Christopher Allen "Chris" Mitterer, 27, of Lusby, MD passed away on July 20, 2009 in California, MD. He was born on July 9, 1982 in Richmond, VA to Mary Debra and Joseph Leon Mitterer.

Chris moved to Lusby from Richmond, VA in May 1987 and went on to graduate from Patuxent High School in 2000. He was a carpenter with R&D Installations, Inc. for past 2 ½ years and loved to go fishing.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Edgar M. Smith and Rudy Mitterer.

Chris is survived by his parents, Mary Debra Mitterer of Lusby, MD and Joseph Leon Mitterer of Colonial Heights, VA; grandmothers, Margaret H. Smith of Delaware and Thelma E. Mitterer of Virginia; sisters, Jennifer Mitterer of Lusby, MD and Tracy Penicook of Richmond, VA; and fiancé, Casey Kachauska of California, MD. Pallbearers will be Steve Cave, Matthew Smith, Ted Allen, Robbie Cave, Robert Smith, and John King. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle Kachauska, Devin Kachauska, Jerry Jimney, Matt Blankenship, and Mike Straughan.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 2-4 PM in the Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Solomons, MD with Fr. Richard Gardiner officiating. Interment will follow in the Chesapeake Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Port Republic, MD.
