William Carl Prye, 84 of Great Mills, MD died on December 3, 2006 at his residence.

He was born on May 9, 2006 in Scranton, PA to the late Cecil and Mae Lewis Prye.

He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 during World War II earning; Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars. He worked for AP Tea Company and Store Manager of Giant Food, and as an IRS agent for the Federal Government.

He was survived by his five children; Betty Prye of Great Mills, MD, John Prye of Charlottesville, VA, Donald Prye of Annandale, VA, William Prye of Niceville, FL, and David Prye of Fishersville, VA, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by; his wife Helen Clair Jones Prye, two brothers Robert Prye and David Prye and one sister Doris Prye Aldridge.

He was a member of the VFW and NARFE.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Great Mills, MD.
