Leo David "Buster" Raulerson, 87, of Helen, MD, formerly of Forestville, MD died July 2, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born December 26, 1921 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Lorenzo Raulerson and Ellen Teresa Mitchell Raulerson. He served in the United States Coast Guard in his early years. In 1971 he retired as a Lieutenant with the D.C. Fire Department. He also served as a volunteer fireman for the Forestville, Silver Hill and Ritchie Fire Departments.
Mr. Raulerson was a devoted Catholic and volunteered many hours at Mother Catherine Spalding School. He was a member of Crime Solvers and Neighborhood Watch, loved telling jokes and watching game shows. Besides his parents, Mr. Raulerson was predeceased by a sister, Helen Carroll, daughter, Janie Lyles and grandson Jimmy Littig. He is survived by his wife, Virginia E. Raulerson; sons, David L. Raulerson and his wife Anna and Joseph M. Raulerson; grandchildren, Kelly Bowling (Mark), Dana Wallace (J.T.), Anee Raulerson and David Lyles; great-grandchildren; Maddison Wallace and Trevor Wallace. The family will receive friends and relatives for "Buster's" Life Celebration on Monday, July 6, 2009 from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A prayer service will be held at 7:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Keith Woods on Tuesday, July, 7, 2009 at St. Joseph's Church, Morganza, MD. at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
