Mary Lucille (Cooper) Lyles began her life's journey on July 7, 1938 when she was born the daughter of James Henry and Mary Regina. Lucille grew up in Charles County, Maryland where she attended the local public school system.

Lucille was a hardworking, dedicated nutritional aide at Civista Medical Center for over 25 years. She would selflessly open her home and heart to caring for her siblings, family and friends throughout her life.

Lucille leaves her family to carry on her rich legacy of integrity, humility, compassion, decency, and forgiveness. She spent countless hours comforting others' with her great active listening skills.

On Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Specialty Hospital in Washington, D.C. Mary Lucille left this life for life eternal.

She leaves to cherish her memory her five daughters, Betty Riley, Patricia Lyles, Dorothy Lyles, Laverne Jackson (Stanley) and Mary Lyles-Moore (Wallace); her sisters, Theresa (John), Veronica and Doris (Warren); her brothers, Calvin, George (Shirley), Charles and William (Deniece); her sisters-in-law, Judy Harrison and Barbara Cooper; her grandchildren, great grandchildren; her care-giver and friend, Sherley Robinson and her son, Corey Woodland and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sons; George Riley, John Wesley and James Henry Lyles; and siblings Joseph, William, Bertha, Alice, James (Sonny), Mary, Cecil and Melvin.

Viewing, Friday, July 3, 8:30am until 10:00am. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD. Interment, St. Catherine's Church Cemetery, Mc Conchie, MD.
