John Edward Fenwick, Sr. was born on May 7, 1945 in Newburg, Maryland to the late Mary Margaret Green-Fenwick and the late James Theodore Fenwick. On June 8, 2009, he quietly departed this life for one eternal.
John was a life long resident of Charles County and was educated in the Charles County Public School system. He was employed by the Charles County Board of Education working as a Building Service Manager for Walter J. Mitchell School in La Plata, MD. He retired with 35 devoted years of service. John was a "die hard" Redskin Football fan. He also enjoyed watching the old westerns on TV. The simple pleasures of life such as washing his truck and keeping his grass cut is what made him happiest. He truly enjoyed his yard and keeping it looking good! He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Jeanette (Hicks) Fenwick, son, David Linnell Fenwick grand daughter, Ja'Crystal L. Fenwick, and brother, James Leroy Fenwick. He was the father of nine children. Also surviving are twenty-nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, one sister and four brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His services will be held on Wednesday, June 17th, 9:00am until Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newport, MD. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
