Walter Glenn Durst passed away June 11, 2009. He was diagnosed with ALS two years ago. We thank God he died peacefully and in his sleep.
Walt was born on August, 11, 1941, in Warren, OH, to the late Leland Durst, He is survived by his mother, Louise Durst; his wife, Joy; and four children, Lori and her husband Ira Carter, Heidi and her husband Ted Gregory, Holli and her husband Lester Burket and Todd and his wife Amy Durst. He has 11 grandchildren that loved him immensly, Josh, Zach & Nate Brandenstein, Hannah Carter, Maggie and Eli Gregory, Jordan and Ethan Durst, Abbey and Joel Wessner and Noah Burket. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, David Durst, Kay and her husband Ken Weeks, Catherine and her husband Al Klouda, Ed and his wife Kathy Durst, Linda Wyatt, and Ron and his wife Pearl Durst. He also had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. His greatest joys in his life were being a policeman in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, for 33 years; his Harley and his Mustang convertible. He was never shy about talking to anyone about them! He loved to help people and was a blessing to many. He also served in the Navy for four years and in the Army for two and was very proud of his country. There will be no funeral services. As per his request, he will be cremated and his ashes will be placed in a Harley Davidson urn.
