James "Harry" Gilroy, 80, of Nanjemoy, MD, died June 2, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Gilroy was a self-employed sawmill operator for 50 years in Nanjemoy and a member of Welcome Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Loved watching NASCAR and the Redskins. Loved talking to everyone. Friend to all. Born December 20, 1928, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late James Barry Gilroy and the late Josephine Gilroy. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Thomas and Clifton Gilroy and sisters, Esther Grissom and Ruby Williams. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Joice Gilroy; brother, Buster and his wife Mary Gilroy of Nanjemoy, MD. Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2009, 5-8PM, at Welcome Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 11AM at Welcome Baptist Church. Rev. Brian Corrick and Rev. Mark will officiate. Interment will be at the Gilroy Family Cemetery, Nanjemoy, MD. Pallbearers will be Rex, Stevie, James and Thomas Gilroy, Jimmy Williams and Roger Grissom. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie, Paul and Cecil Gilroy and Dave Summers.
