A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Morganza, MD.

Viewing/Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 2:00 -5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 3:00 PM.

Alice Elizabeth "Me Maw" Graves, 87, of Leonardtown, MD died November 30, 2006 in St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born March 3, 1919 in Loveville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frank Joseph and Theresa Mary Brenner Madel. She was the loving wife of the late Alfred Vernon "Bob" Graves whom she married on August 28, 1939 and the devoted mother of Betty A. Bryant of Boydton, VA, Robert "Bob" Graves of Port Charlotte, FL, Rosalyn Zimmerman of Winfield, PA and Karen C. Stauffer of Hollywood, MD.

She is also survived by her sister, Theresa Guy of Loveville, MD as well as 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son Joseph F. Graves and her siblings Frank Madel, Johnny Madel, Lizzie Blanchard, Mary Fletcher, Bertha Brandies and Minnie McVerry. Mrs. Graves attended St. Joseph's School and enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, nature, the outdoors and playing bingo.

The family will receive friends in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home on Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, where prayers will be said at 3:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Al Graves, Eric Zimmerman, Joey Graves, Tony Vallandingham, Billy Graves and Benny Wilkerson.
