Mary Adelaide Sullivan, 75, died June 2, 2009 at Calvert County Nursing Center in Prince Frederick. Mary was born May 29, 1934 and raised in Bethesda, MD.
She attended Catholic schools, and graduated from Immaculata High School in Washington, D.C. She worked as a secretary for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for several years, and later worked from her home in North Beach booking fishing trips for local charter boat captains. She lived in North Beach for most of her life, and as a child spent summers with her grandparents with numerous cousins who came to visit. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church in North Beach where she was active with the Ladies of Charity. She was also a member of the Calvert County Democratic Club. She enjoyed knitting baby outfits and baking, and was known for her delicious pound cakes. Mary is survived by her devoted friend Shirley Whittington of Dunkirk, MD, cousins John E. Polley of Virginia Beach, VA and Mary Frances Morhead of Oxon Hill, MD, and several second cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents William J. and Bertha Polley Sullivan.
