Betty Frances Hebbert, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at Discovery Commons Wildewood in California, Maryland.

Born on July 19, 1938, in Princeton, West Virginia, Betty was the daughter of the late George Earlden Akers and Nannie Pearl Mayberry Akers. On May 5, 1955, she married the love of her life, Marvin Ardell Hebbert, in Leonardtown, Maryland. They shared 53 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2018.

Betty found joy in the simple and creative things in life. She had a deep love for sewing, whether making clothes or crafting beautiful curtains. She also enjoyed working with plastic canvas, creating handmade treasures, and spending quiet moments reading a good book. Her warmth, creativity, and dedication to her family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children: Cynthia Hardman (Mike) of Valley Lee, Maryland; Anita Kurtz (Greg) of Lexington Park, Maryland; and Randall Hebbert (Sherrie) of Mooresville, North Carolina. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and two more great-great-grandchildren on the way. Betty is also survived by her sister, Shirley Meadows of Virginia.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Velvet Lynn Hebbert; her brothers, Larry Akers, George Akers, and Oliver David Akers; and her sister, Shelby Jean Mabry.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Leonardtown Baptist Church, 23520 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. She will be interred at a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Florida.

Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the lasting legacy she leaves with her family.
