Death: Sunday, April 05, 2026 at the age of 85
Laura Ann Redmond, 85, of Lexington Park, MD, went home to be with her Lord on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital with most of her family at her side. Those who could not be present were there by telephone.

Born on November 21, 1940 in Alexandria, VA, Laura is the daughter of the late Phillip Spencer Johnson and Katie Elva (nee: Emmons) Johnson.

As a young adult, Laura was a professional chorus line dancer, where she traveled all over the world. For her efforts she was awarded an accommodation from the military for the support she provided while entertaining our American troops overseas. Shortly after her dance career ended she married her first husband, and although the marriage did not succeed, she did walk away from it with her first born son, Lee.After her divorce, she met her true love. And on April 4, 1969, she married her beloved husband, William Junior Redmond in Virginia and in doing so, she was blessed with four additional children that William shared also from a previous marriage. Those children were Micheal, Joe, Donna and Jimmy.Together Laura and William added another two sons to their family, Philip and Roger. As with any true to life marriage, it had its ups and downs. There were good times and bad. However they persevered and together they celebrated over 29 wonderful years of marriage, until his passing May 12, 1998. Laura never remarried or even sought company with anyone else, because William was her soulmate and she thought and spoke of him every day until her final day.

She absolutely loved animals and had several over the years, most recognisable was "Smokey" a Dalmation she shared with William, which prompted a vast collection of dalmatian knick knacks and stuffed animals. She also rescued through adoption, "Pablo" a blue healer, "Willa" a spaniel mix and her final fur child, "Elliott" a tiny grey tabby cat, who brightened her days through antics such a opening cabinet doors to climb in and hide only to jump out at visitors sending her into hysterical laughter.

She was a God loving woman and 5 years ago or so became a member of God's Special Church: Global Methodist Church in California, MD. which she considered her home. She adored Pastor Don and spoke of him to anyone who would listen.

Laura is survived by her sons: A. Lee Tedore, Jr. (Crystal) of California, MD, Philip Spencer Redmond (Lori) of King George, VA; Roger Wayne Redmond (Melissa) of Leonardtown, MD; step-sons, William Michael Redmond and James Patrick Redmond, both of Everett, PA; 15 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren; along with her extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her step-children, Joseph Alan Redmond and Donna Marie Redmond; siblings: Arthur Austin Johnson, Katie Elva Dombroski, and Philip Spencer Johnson, Jr; and grandson, David Tedore.
