Rits Junior "Ricky" Plumer, 63, of Waldorf, Maryland, formerly of Faulkner, Maryland, passed away peacefully at Georgetown University Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Rits, or as his family and friends called him, Ricky, was born in LaPlata, Maryland, to the late Rit and Lora B. Plumer on December 20, 1962. He was one of seven children. Ricky spent forty-plus years working as a painter. He was known for his attention to detail and his ability to transform any space. He took great pride in every project he completed.

Ricky enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved fishing, listening to music, dancing, cutting grass, planting a vegetable garden, and cooking/grilling. He treasured most of all spending time with his family and close friends, especially his grandchildren. His contagious laugh, sense of humor, and easy-going spirit will be deeply missed.

Ricky was the proud father of his three children: Ricky Plumer (Amanda) of Lexington Park, MD, Sarah Miller (Wayne) of Waldorf, MD, and Priscilla Plumer of LaPlata, MD

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Delores Plumer Wilson, Rita Sydnor, and Brenda Bowie.

He is survived by his beloved companion Brenda Williams, his children, his brother Michael Plumer (Dawnetta) from Newburg, MD, his sisters, Patsy Gray from Mechanicsville, Maryland, and Theresa Collins from Indian Head, MD, and his grandchildren: Malijah Savoy, Larissa Miller, Xavier Plumer, Leah Savoy, Logan Miller, Nevaeh Wilson, and Leila Plumer.

Ricky will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, strength, and laughter will live on through his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
