Helga Patricia "Pat" Hessler, 71, of Lusby, MD passed away on May 6, 2009 in Fairfax, VA. She was born on April 28, 1938 in Washington D.C to the late Sigurd and Catherine Ostenso.

Pat was the loving wife of the late Robert W. Hessler whom she married on August 16, 1958 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1976.

Pat worked for the US Government in various positions and retired in 2001. In 2002, Pat moved to Lusby, MD from Bowie, MD where she loved walking the beach.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Bernard Case. Pat is survived by her children, Robert W. Hessler, Jr. of Clifton, VA, Diane L. Anderson of Richmond, VA, Thomas G. Hessler of Vienna, VA and Kathleen M. Gentile of Crofton, MD; 7 grandchildren; and siblings Mr. and Mrs. Richard N. Ostenso of Lusby, MD, Mr. And Mrs. Thomas E. Ostenso, of Lusby, MD and Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Ostenso of Welcome, MD.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 from 12 noon till 1 PM in the Rausch Funeral Home Chapel, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 1PM. Inurnment will follow at St. Paul United Methodist Cemetery, Lusby, MD.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to be made to Capital Hospice and / or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
