February 2nd, 1959 - October 10th, 2025 Ricky passed away at Medstar St. Mary's Hospital peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday October 10, 2025. Ricky was born in Leonardtown, Maryland to the late Mary Susan Long and Joseph Albert Long 3rd. Ricky is survived by his daughters Frannie Lynn Campbell (Angie) of Colonial Beach, Virginia and Randi Leigh Twigg (Robbie) of Mechanicsville, Maryland. Five grandchildren Garrett Arndt, Ashley Himes, Shane Readmond, Hailey Twigg and Kayleigh Twigg. His life partner Lisa May Warnos and her two sons Richie and Randy Warnos. His pride and joy four-legged best friend Otis. His siblings are Bobby Long, Jimmy Long, Elaine Copsey, and Betsy Long. Ricky was a lifelong resident of good ole' St. Mary's County. He spent his childhood working on the family farm that he loved so much. He graduated from Chopticon High School in 1977. The arrival of his daughters Frannie born May 1981, and Randi born May 1986 were the best moments in his life. He was a jack of all trades, but a master of none. His true passion was driving big rigs across the country, allowing him to visit some of the prettiest places. Until his retirement in 2009. He spent his retirement with his 5 beloved grandchildren, showing them how to drive tractors, gardening, fishing and crabbing and watching them play sports. His other passion was cooking big family dinners with his famous baked spaghetti and baking his famous caramel apple cake. Ricky was preceded in death by his wife Lisa Davis Long, whom he married September 1997 till her death in February 2009. His mother and father, Sue and Junior Long. Siblings JF Long and Barbara Jean Long. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 5:00 pm -8:00 pm at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown, MD, with prayer being said at 7pm. Interment will be private. Serving as pallbearers; Garrett Arndt, Shane Readmond, Angie Campbell, Robbie Twigg, Mickey Long, Donny Long, Johnny Gray, and Chino Stewart. Honorary Pallbearers; Ashley Himes, Hailey Twigg, Kayleigh Twigg, Otis, Ritchie Warnos, Randy Warnos.
