On Wednesday, afternoon April 22, 2009, Ada Jean Henson was awarded her (angel) wings and took flight from this journey (life).
She was born in Grayton, Maryland, on September 14, 1945 to the parentage of the late Alean Giles and Eugene Cobey. Ada was educated through the Charles County School System. She later earned an Associate Degree in Human Services from Antioch College. She retired from the Charles County Department of Social Services after 35 years of dedicated services. She worked as a Family Support worker and was always a hard worker who was willing to give a helping hand. She affectionately became known as "Mom/Grandma" to a lot of the neighborhood children. Her hobbies were gardening, fishing and playing the slots. She enjoyed spending countless hours with her family laughing and reminiscing about the old days. She will be missed dearly, although she is gone from this earth she will live forever in our hearts. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Alton and Joseph Cobey, step-sibling Anthony and Samuel Jackson, and best friend, Joan Matthews. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Twana Henson, six sons, Timothy, Pedro, Kevin, Jeffrey, Mark and Ivan Henson; grandchildren, Trent, LeQuay, Keaisa, Daysha, Demond, Alyssa, Danielle, Promise, Timothy, Stephanie, Marcus and Kayla; great grandchildren; Sharleah, Raynette, Saydiyah, Nydiera, Tirell, Shakira, Caiden, Peyton, Demont, Marlen and Dahvina, five sisters; Bonnie Carroll (Roger), Agatha Carroll (Andrew), Brenda Cobey, Joan ( Donnie) Milstead (Carroll) Snooks, Patricia and Margaret Nell Miles; two brothers, Otis (Debbie and Rudy; four step sisters, Margaret and Joyce Henson, Lessie Savoy, Denise Swann (Samuel); and one step brother, Clarence (Buster) Henson; aunts, Marguerite Hill and Clarice Cobey; uncles, Coleman Washington, second mother, Annabelle Warren; special friends, Joyce Jennings, Mary Warren, Belinda Harrison, Beulah Shade, Igene Cooper and Carolyn Chase; special cousin, Rhonda Cobey; and a host of nieces and nephews.
