Boylen, Glora "Bunny"
Birth: Monday, July 04, 1938
Death: Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the age of 87
Gloria Boylen, affectionately known as "Bunny," went home to be with the Lord on August 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on July 4, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, Gloria's life was a joyful celebration of love, family, and faith.

Bunny was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Jane Adams Business School for Girls. She later worked at the Social Security Administration in Baltimore as an Electrical Accounting Machine (EAM) Operator, where she met her future husband, David. The couple married on May 6, 1957, in Baltimore and shared nearly 70 years of marriage, building a life filled with devotion, laughter, and cherished memories.

In 1970, the family moved to Charles County, where Bunny lovingly raised their three children. She also worked part-time in the cafeteria at McDonough High School. At the age of 47, in 1975, Bunny was adopted by her loving stepfather, Charles Geoghegan - an event that held special meaning in her life.

Bunny found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending to her flowers, entertaining family and friends, traveling, and sitting on her screened porch watching wildlife in the peace of nature and God's presence. After retirement, Bunny and David traveled extensively, visiting all fifty states. She was well known for her "fine" cooking, pouring love into her meals that always brought her family together. A lifelong fan of classic westerns, Bunny always enjoyed evenings spent watching her favorite movies on television. She was also a devoted fan of the Washington Nationals and could often be found staying up late to cheer them on, even through extra-inning West Coast games.

Her birthday, the Fourth of July, was always a special celebration -- marked by crab feasts, family gatherings, and fireworks that reflected the light and joy she brought to those around her.

A woman of faith, Bunny was a devoted member of Hughesville Baptist Church, where she regularly attended services, participated in Bible Study, and enjoyed weekly game days.

Bunny is survived by her beloved husband, David, and their children: Monica Klein and husband Bill of La Plata, MD; David Jr. and wife Angela of Crimora, VA; and Kevin R. Boylen Sr. of Hughesville, MD. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Kevin Jr. of White Sands, MD; Michael Knodle of Lothian, MD; Jesse Knodle of La Plata, MD; Cole Boylen of Crimora, VA; and Mary Catherine Boylen of Independence, KY. Bunny's legacy also continues through her seven great-grandchildren. She is also remembered with love by her sister-in-law, Linda Scopiliti of Brecksville, OH, with whom she shared a special bond, as well as dear friends Silvia and Marcella Monterosa and their children of Farmersville, TX.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Chesapeake Hospice for their compassionate care during Bunny's final days, as well as to Just Amazing Care home health providers -- Elizabeth, Lizzie, Stacey, and Chandra -- whose dedication brought comfort to both Bunny and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hughesville Baptist Church or Chesapeake Hospice Center.
