Charles Alan "Al" Hodge, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away on August 13, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on July 25, 1953, Al was the beloved son of the late Charles and Louis Hodge. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975.

While doing mechanical repairs at Georgetown University Hospital, he met Martha Ynes Soto Hodge, who also worked at the hospital. The two fell in love and married in 1997. Over the course of 28 years, they built a warm and loving home. Al was a dedicated father to Walter M. Soto Reyes, Jorge L. Soto Reyes (Rosa), Linda M. Hodge, and the late Charles David Hodge, whose memory he cherished deeply.

Al had a lifelong passion for cars and found great joy in sharing that interest with those around him. He had a particular love for Ford Mustangs and once won Best in Show at a car show. However, his greatest joy came from time spent with his grandchildren: Ryan Hodge, Sebastian Soto, Andrea Sofia Soto, Martin Hodge, Leyla Hodge, and Elinora Hodge. His quiet wisdom, sense of humor, and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 30195 Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Reverend Joe Orlando. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, located at 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Rd in Waldorf, Maryland.

Charles will be remembered with love and missed deeply by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
