Mary "Evelyn" Norris passed away at her home in California, MD on February 21, 2025 at the age of 98. Evelyn was born on September 26, 1926 to the late James Alphonsus and Daisy Agnes (Hebb) Bean. She married James Norman (Tiny) Norris on January 18, 1947, who preceded her in death on July 13, 1996.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Linda Vallandingham (John), California, Gloria Bean (Francis), Valley Lee, Judy Higgs (Bill), California, Michael Norris (Wanda), California, and Raymond Norris (Charlotte), California, as well as 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Jean Bean Goldsborough.

In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Norris, on July 14, 1974, her parents, and her brothers and sisters: Ann Marie Bean, Inez E. McConnell, J. Franklin Bean, Sr. Beatrice A. Newbold, Sr. Mary Grace, J. Luke Bean, Henrietta M. Moffatt, Mildred T. Jurovaty, William B. Bean, Sr., L. Hebb Bean (Mary Jean Bean Goldsborough), and A. Dolores Pinno.

Evelyn devoted her life to being a farmer's wife and raising their family. She enjoyed her family, flower gardening, and riding her John Deere gator around her farm, Silences Rest.

Family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Holy Face Church, 20408 Point Lookout Road, Great Mills, MD 20634. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Scott Holmer at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
