Roger Dale "Pete" Garner, 75, of St. Leonard, MD, and formerly of Upper Marlboro, MD, passed away on January 15, 2025 at Solomons Nursing Center.

Born October 10, 1949 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late John Clarence Garner and Virginia (Burns) Garner.

Pete graduated from Frederick Sasscer High School in 1967. He moved to Calvert County from Prince George's County in 1989. Pete was employed by Smith's Building Supply for twenty-two years, retiring in 2002 as an Operations Manager. He enjoyed fishing, beach combing, socializing with friends, and spoiling his grandkids.

Pete is survived by his wife, Martha A. Garner whom he married on July 19, 1968 in Camp Springs, MD; his children, Dale Garner and his wife Angel Garner of St. Leonard, MD, and Jenn Garner of LaPlata, MD; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Sandy Chapman of Alexandria, VA, Rose Eastman of Fruitland, MD, John Garner of Upper Marlboro, MD, Chuck Garner of St. Leonard, MD, Jeri Corneilson of Upper Marlboro, MD and Rick Garner of Upper Marlboro, MD; and his niece, Devon Landcaster. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Debbie Garner and his sister, Susie Raynor.
