Poda Nell Ward, 86, of Loveville, MD passed away on December 15, 2024 at Hospice House of St. Mary's in Callaway, MD.

She was born on July 15, 1938 in Coeburn, VA to the late George Horace Ward and Della Idell (Nee: Carter) Ward.

Poda is survived by her sons, Curtis Ward (Barbara) of Dodorus, PA and Ronald Ward (Beth) of Leonardtown, MD; her grandchildren, Lisa Sturgill (Larry), Daniel Ward, and Robert Ward (Amanda); her adopted grandchildren: Rogie and John Simmons; great-grandchildren: Rosa Ward, Tanner Ward and Emersyn Ward; her sister-in-law, Linda Ward of Callaway, MD; and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Hoge Ward, daughter, Lisa Rae Ward, and son, Donald Wayne Ward.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a Service celebrated by Reverend John Ball at 11:00 a.m., at St. George's Episcopal Church, 19167 Poplar Hill Lane, Valley Lee, MD 20692. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Roger Simmons, Jr., John Ridgell, Jr., Stewart Dement, Jeff Hudson, David Gatton, and Larry Sturgill.
