Lavin Mondell Newman, was born on October 5, 1965 at the Prince Georges Hospital Center in Cheverly, Maryland. He was the son of Mary Ann Stringer and E. Tyrone Newman.
"Kooch" as he was more affectionately known attended school in Washington, D.C. and Prince Georges's County, Maryland. The proudest day of his life was when his son, "Little Lavin" was born. Kooch loved him more than anything else in the world. Kooch was very family oriented and was loved by everyone. He was the only man known, that didn't have any enemies. He enjoyed listening to music, especially, Oldies and Gospel. He also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His favorite sayings were "What's up Gee", "Ain't No Shame in My Game" and "I'm Gonna Get Mine." On Wednesday, March 25, 2009 Kooch was called from this earthly life to life eternal. In addition to his parents and son, left to cherish fond memories are, one brother, two sisters, seven nieces, three nephews, and a host of family and friends.
