Death: Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the age of 92
Alan "Mickey" David Brown, 92 of Hollywood, MD passed away on August 27, 2024 at home with his family by his side.

Mickey was born on May 1, 1932 in Maryland to the late William Robert Brown and Ella Mae Haegerich.

Mick graduated from Glen Burnie high school in 1950. After graduation he served in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge in February of 1967. He continued his education and graduated from the University of MD with a Master's Degree in teaching. He was employed by the Montgomery County Public School System as an Industrial Arts Teacher from which he retired in 1985. He married his loving wife, Patricia Lynch Brown on May 29, 1954 in Gaithersburg, MD. Together they raised three children. They enjoyed their retirement together, traveling occasionally, vacationing with children and grandchildren in Myrtle Beach, and at their beloved 'Camelot' on the southern Chesapeake Bay. Mickey was a talented woodworker, builder, and creative thinker. He completed many intricate wood projects including carved ducks, crabs, and waterfowl. He also built two homes on the waterfront and much of the furniture inside the homes. His skill and knowledge of woodwork were documented in a power carving book called "Carving the Crab" which he wrote personally - one of his life's goals. He enjoyed being outdoors, crabbing and boating, and in his workshop, creating, building, designing, and fixing, usually for friends without such skills. Mickey was a member of Hollywood United Methodist Church, a longtime member of the Optimist Club, and a great supporter of the Hollywood VFD.

'Pop-pop's' true legacy, however, is: optimism, integrity, diligence, encouragement, humility, & wisdom, seasoned with perpetual humor, infused into his children, grand-, and greatgrandchildren.
