MaryAnne Schercinger, 84, of Huntingtown passed away July 28th, 2024. She was born on September 12th, 1939, in the District of Columbia to F. Ralph and Mary F. (Pyles) Reamy. MaryAnne spent most of her youth in Washington, D.C. before moving to Mount Rainer with her parents as an early teen. She graduated from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville. She married her high school sweetheart, John Schercinger on February 13th, 1960. They lived in Prince Georges County before moving to Huntingtown in 1976. MaryAnne worked for the federal government early in their marriage before becoming a full-time mother of their two daughters, Kathy and Kelly.

MaryAnne was an active member of her community, serving in several different capacities throughout her life. She was a member of the Jaycettes, Jobs Daughters, and the Eastern Star. She spent her later years serving as president of the Calvert Memorial Auxiliary services, organizing the Festival of Trees for Hospice, and a was lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. MaryAnne was an active member of Huntingtown United Methodist Church, and spent much of her time volunteering and was engaged in many of the Church's groups. She was also an active member of the John Hanson DAR and participated in many activities with them.

MaryAnne returned to the work force in 1970, as a financial secretary for Prince George's County Public Schools, where she spent over 30 years at Thomas Pullen. She made many lifelong friends there.

MaryAnne will always be remembered for her strength in adversity, her wit, and her generosity to give and love unconditionally. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Wood (Rudy) and Kelly McKenny (Joey), her four grandchildren, Lauren, Alyssa, Collin and Cameryn, and her great grandson, Gage. She is also survived by her niece, Debbie Mould (Jim). She was predeceased by her husband John just five months before her death. May they both be at peace, together again.
