Bradford Charles Dunlap of Lusby, Maryland died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 5, 2009. He was the son of Steven and Carol Dunlap of Port Republic, Maryland.

Bradford was born on July 23, 1979 in Washington, D.C. He graduated from St. Mary's Ryken High School in 1997 and completed two years at Frostburg State University. Joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 2001, he enjoyed working in the field of electrical contracting. He later applied his skills in sales and installation of neon signs; as a building engineer; and most recently with his father as a foreman for Patuxent General Contractors, Inc.

His passion was the outdoors and he enjoyed hiking, fishing, skiing and scuba diving. He traveled in the United States, Europe and the West Indies. He particularly enjoyed traveling with his family to the Dominican Republic where the family has acquired property and established residency. His incredible love for animals led him to volunteer his time to and become a great advocate of the Human Society.

Bradford deeply loved his family. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Byron and Natalia Dunlap, and his maternal grandmother, Audrey Umpleby. He is missed by his loving girlfriend of many years, Heather Hile. Together they loved and cared for many pets including Nelly, their dog, who was devoted to Brad and is lost without him.

A viewing, followed by a funeral service is planned for family and close friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Church in Port Republic, Maryland. The Reverend John Howanstine, Jr., will officiate. Pallbearers include Byron Dunlap, Charles Dunlap, James Patterson, Christopher Walker, Douglas Hile, and Mark Ames.
