Thomas Nathen Brown, 36, of Charlotte Hall, MD died March 4, 2009 at Children's Hospital from the complications of Cystic Fibrosis. Born August 17, 1972 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Fred Nathen Brown and Margaret Irene Thompson Brown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Christine Margaret Brown Owens and her husband Wm. Maurice Owens, Sr., fiancée, Rachel Nemeth, Grandmother, Margaret Theresa Flaherty Thompson, Uncle George Milton Thompson, close cousins, Karen Marie Boecher and Sharon Marie Thompson. He is also survived by his nephews Wm. Maurice Owens, Jr., Matthew "Anthony" Owens (Godson), Blake Thomas Owens, Bryce Allen Owens, and close friends, Adam Ptack and Laura Gainey Trasatti, God-daughter, Hazel Thomas Ptack, and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Margaret Brown, and nephew, James "Dustin" Owens. Thomas enjoyed life everyday. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He worked at Montgomery Wards from the opening to the closing of the department store. He loved weekend cookouts at his sister's house enjoying his favorite meal, steak and baked potatoes. He loved swimming, boating, bowling, and playing horseshoes, shuffle board, pool, riding motorcycles, and Country music, especially the music of Conway Twitty, George Jones, and George Strait. Thomas always had a smile on his face. The family received friends for Thomas' Life Celebration on Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622, where prayers were held at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 28297 Old Village Rd., Mechanicsville, MD. Reverend Peter Alliata was the celebrant. Interment followed at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers were friends, Adam Ptack, Fernando Nino, Michael Thompson, Matthew Fields, Philip Buhler, Owen Harris, and cousins, David Flaherty, and Richard Boecher. Honorary Pallbearers were cousins, Edward and John Flaherty, Joseph and Jeffery Cardello, and nephew, Wm Maurice Owens, Jr. Readings were given by cousins Michelle Cardello, Karen Boecher, and friend, Michael Gardiner.
