BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Ambrose was a Scheduling Supervisor for 37 years with DC Metro System. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during WWII and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in La Plata. He was an active member with the American Legion, Moose Lodge, VFW, I.O.O.F., and the F.U.N. Club in Forestville, MD. He was also an avid Redskin fan.

Son of the late James Burr Ambrose, Jr. And the late Jennie Kalar Ambrose.

Survived by his wife, Gertrude K. Ambrose; two daughters, Faith Ambrose-Lough (Larry) of La Plata, MD, and Sharon Ambrose (Bill Brooks) of Cary, NC; one brother, Ed Ambrose (Ann) of Odenton, MD; one sister, Mary Cerrato (Walt) of Titusville, FL; five grandchildren, Keith (Beckie) Lough, Kimberly Lough, Torrey Brooks Moorman, Helen Brooks Tenney (Walter), and Erin Brooks Anderson (Neal). Also survived by seven great grandchildren.

Visitation: Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 3-5 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, La Plata, MD.

Funeral Service: Sunday evening at 5 PM at Grace Lutheran Church.

INTERMENT: Monday, March 2, 2009 at 1 PM at MD Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
