Parker Whittley Hubbard, Jr., 78 of Lusby, MD died on February 18, 2009 at Calvert Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Parker was born on August 8, 1930 to the late Parker Whittley Hubbard, Sr. and Hilda Marion (Ward) Hubbard, in Pensacola, Fl. He is survived by his three children, Marshall Greg Hubbard, Richard E. Hubbard and Christina Hubbard; five grandchildren Tiffany Aholt, Sharon Riser, Laura Hubbard, Marshall G. Hubbard, Jr. and Timothy Hubbard; three great grandchildren Bailey Riser, Logan Wilms and Gavin Riser; as well as his good friend Scott Long. He served six years with the U. S. Army during the Korean War and received several service medals; Parker also traveled the United States and the world using his mechanical, engineering and refrigeration knowledge. He worked in Washington, D.C., Las Vegas and as far reaching as Venezuela and the Samoan Islands on a tuna boat. He recently worked at Pax River Naval Air Station as a first-class engineer and a facility manager for NAVAIR until his retirement in 2008. Parker enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and watching CSI Miami but most of all he enjoyed having lunch at the Captains Table Restaurant on Solomons Island with Scott and the ladies that worked there, they took such great care of Parker, making him feel loved. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27th, 2:00 P.M. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Chapel, Cheltenham, MD, with military honors offered by the Maryland National Guard.
