Patricia Maureen Murphy Barber Lewis died November 16, 2022, at the of age eighty-six, surrounded by her loving family.

Patti was born to Helen and William Murphy and lived on a farm in the upper peninsula of Michigan yet has made Southern Maryland her home for the past several years.

Patricia is survived by her sisters Diane, Carolyn, and Susan (Terry), and her children Kathryn, William (Shirley), Pamela, Patricia (Ivan), and Ruth. She also leaves behind grandchildren Sonia (Jose), Kelly, Phillip (Adrian), Maureen, Will (Lauren), Katy, Rosemary, and great-grandchildren, Brendan, Sophia, Ian, Charles, Logan, Thomas, Quentin, Maeve, Michael, and great-great grandchildren Shai, and 2023 arrivals, Theo, and Poppy. Patti was the former mother-in-law of Phil, Jacques, and Rico, and had many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

Patti is predeceased by her parents, her son Homer, her daughter Mavourneen, her brother Tim, her sons-in-law John and Chauncey, sister-in-law Lillian, and brothers -in-law Alexander and Maurice, as well as husbands Homer Barber, and Arnold Lewis.

She joined the United States Air Force when she was nineteen and served her country as an Aircraft Camera Repair Technician. Her true passion was singing, acting, and being a musician, playing trumpet for the Air Force Special Band.

She was a chorus member and director, an actor, and the leader of a ten-person folk band. Patti had a brilliant mind, taught music, and spoke several languages, never failing to correct your grammar.

Making music was part of her soul. She played string, brass, woodwind instruments, as well as keyboards well into her eighties. She made her entrance to The Hermitage, her assisted living residence, yodeling for her new neighbors and care givers. Her family would like to thank them for their loving and excellent care and kindness given her these past few years, along with Calvert Hospice for the past few months.

Patricia is remembered as having lived a life filled with song, family, and bringing joy to others with her beautiful voice. She rests in Jehovah's loving memory.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 p.m. at Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, Md.
