Dorothy Hardesty Gibson, 91, of Huntingtown passed away peacefully on December 11, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Prince Frederick to Edward R. and Georgie Garner Hardesty. She was one of eight children. Dorothy graduated from Calvert High School and the University of Maryland School of Banking. The majority of her career was in the field of banking, and she retired from Calvert Bank & Trust after 30 years of services as an assistant vice president and manager of the Chaneyville branch. She was listed in the "Who's Who of Professional and Executive Women."

Dorothy is survived by her son Richard Ward and his wife Patti, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Gibson and her three sons Charlie Ward, Gary Ward, and Jeff Gibson.
