Lula May Harding, 88, of Welcome, MD, died February 13, 2009, at Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, MD.
Mrs. Harding was a hostess for many years at the Madrid Restaurant and the Busy Bee Restaurant in Washington, DC. She enjoyed gardening, canning, the outdoors, and flowers. She most enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Born June 29, 1920, in Sperryville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ruben Charles Atkins and the late Daisy May Woodard Atkins. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Charles Franklin Harding, Sr.; sister, Florence Pendlebury; brothers, Dan, Lynwood, Fred, and James Atkins. Survived by son, Charles F. and his wife Pamela Harding, Jr., of Welcome, MD; stepdaughter, Patty Kay Fryman of Berry, KY; grandchildren, Mike Moorman, Chad, William, and Hope Harding. Visitation will be Thursday, February 19, 2009, from 9 AM until service time at 11 AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD. Interment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
