Robert "Chip" Thurman Hampton, 73, of Nanjemoy, MD died on June 28, 2022 at his home.
Chip was born on October 9, 1948, in Takoma Park, MD, to the late Ellen (Souder) and Kenneth Hampton.
Chip was in the United States Army, where he served time in Vietnam. He was an electrician all of his adult life and the owner/operator of Hampton Electric. He enjoyed living in the country and being on the water. He was a handyman and had the ability to fix anything. He liked to make people laugh. He loved his family and, most of all, his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth D. Hampton, Jr.
Chip is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy (America) Hampton, Daughters; Carrie Palmer and her husband Ryan, Bonnie Martin and her husband Steven, and Patricia Baldwin and her husband Tommy, grandchildren; Luke, Dylan, and Julia Baldwin, and Elizabeth and Robert Martin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 2:00PM until time of Memorial Service at 4:00PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646.
A repast will follow at the LaPlata American Legion.
