Edward "Uncle Eddie" Bowling 85 of Newburg, MD passed away on April 15, 2022 at his home.

Big Boy was born on October 13, 1936 in Allens Fresh, MD to the late Wallace and Martha Bowling. He is also predeceased by his brothers, Calvin Bowling, James Bowling and Charles Bowling, Sr.; sisters Betty Ann Davis, Hannah Hancock and Margaret Bowling.

He is survived by his brother, Elmer Howard "Butch" Bowling and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Like most Bowling's he had several nicknames "Big Boy, Bubba & Uncle Eddie" as he was known by so many. Uncle Eddie was a lifelong farmer. He loved playing baseball for the Glasva baseball team for 35 years having the nick name "Ageless Eddie". In 2003 he was inducted into the Maryland State Semi Pro Baseball Hall of Fame and in March of 2022 into the National Semi Pro Baseball Hall of Fame. Uncle Eddie also turned down contracts to play for the Washington Senators and the Pittsburg Pirates to stay home to take care of the farm and family. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards, watching wild life and the crops grow, hunting, going to the fair to watch the livestock show and his daily rides through Allens Fresh and Popes Creek. He was proud to live on Bunker Hill Farm to plant and harvest his many crops of tobacco, corn, wheat and soybeans. His biggest love was watching the generations of family grow up and enjoy the farm.

The family will receive friends on Friday April 22, 2022 from 10 AM until Mass time at 11 AM at the St. Mary's Church (11555 St. Mary's Church Rd. Charlotte Hall, MD 20622). Interment to follow at the Dentsville Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Davis, David Hancock, Bucky Bowling, Jim Bowling, Gary Bowling and Chip Bowling, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Davis, Wayne Hancock, Ronnie Hancock, Dale Bowling, Wally Bowling, Daniel Bowling and Steven Bowling.
