Zita Mary "Zee" Kerwin, 93, of Valley Lee, MD died January 20, 2009 at her daughter's residence in Loveville, MD.
Born December 20, 1915 in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Taroni and Cornelia (Anzani) Taroni. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Second District Rescue Squad Auxiliary, the St. Mary's Homemakers Club and the 4-H Maryland All Stars. She was a 4-H leader for the Bumble Bees Club in Valley Lee, MD. Zee is survived by her children; Joann P. Lacey of Loveville, MD, Anita L. Gerek of St. Mary's City, MD, Violet M. Edwards of Valley Lee, MD, and Veronica L. Estevez of Lexington Park, MD, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister; Jennie Aschettino of Dewitt, VA and brother; Tom Polo of Long Island, NY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard "Sonny" Kerwin and brother, Leopold Taroni. Family will receive friends for Zee's Life Celebration on Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Prayers will be recited at 3:00 p.m. by Deacon George L'Heureux. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St. George's Catholic Church, 19199 St. George's Church Road, Valley Lee, MD 20692. Monsignor Karl A. Chimiak will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Carter, Rudy Baliko, Dave Dilworth, Fuzzy Knott, Blair Swann and Dale Springer.
