Mr. Amos was a Retired Mailer with the Washington Post Newspaper. He was also a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict.

He was son of the late Robert George Amos, Sr., and the late Harriett Pruitt Amos.

He is survived by his wife, Marie C. Amos; sons, Robert W. Amos of Welcome, MD and Gary S. (Erica) Amos of Mechanicsville, MD; daughters, Jill A. (Jay) Andrews of Mechanicsville, MD, Lisa K. Amos of White Plains, MD and Linda M. (William) Westervelt of Issue, MD; brother, Thomas Martin of Kent Island, MD; and grandchildren Josh, April, Brooke, Amy, Tyler, Skylar, Noah, and Summer.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

A Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 7pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Clergy will be the Rev. Thomas J. Gill.

Interment will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 11am.
