Elmer Robert Ager Jr., 86, of Port Tobacco, Maryland, passed away on November 23, 2021 at Washington Hospital in Washington, DC.

Born on November 7, 1935 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Elmer Robert Ager Sr. and Mary Angela Ager. Mr. Ager served in the U. S. Navy during Korea until he was Honorably Discharged. He then worked for the DC Fire Department until he retired as a Firefighter. Mr. Ager was a life member of the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department and was a member and Past President of the Southern Maryland Quarter Horse Association. He served on the Maryland Forestry Service and Department Natural Resources with fire control in Southern Maryland. Mr. Ager enjoyed fishing, wood working, welding, fabricating and being a "jack of all trades, master of none."

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ager was preceded in death by his wife Patricia C. Ager; brother John Michael Ager.

He is survived by his children David Michael (Paulette) Ager, Karen Denise (David) Hogge; grandchildren Eric Robert Ager, Austin Michael Ager, Joshua David Hogge, and Benjamin Stephen Hogge; great grandchildren Elliott Michael Hogge, Grant David Hogge, and Christian Elliott Cornell; sister Mary Edith Morey; step-children Karen Kneib and Jay Kneib; numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 4PM to 7PM with Services at 6PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. A prayer of farewell will be offered on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10AM at Raymond Funeral Service followed by graveside service at 11AM at St. Peter's Church Cemetery in Waldorf. Pallbearers are Josh Hogge, Eric Ager, Austin Ager, Steven Morey, John Sullivan, and Tim Cullins. Honorary Pallbearers are Ben Hogge and Jimmy Morey.
