Lila K Donovan-Frederick (Braden) , 73 of Lusby MD, passed away peacefully on January 18,
2021 at Georgetown University Hospital shortly after being diagnosed with Fahr's disease. Lila was born in Germantown PA to John Gordon and Lila Kathleen Braden. She was a graduate of Germantown High School. She was a buyer for Strawbridge and Clothier in Philadelphia for many years. Lila had a lifelong love of biking, even earning many metals including 1st place in the Womans Pennsylvania State Championship in 1967. She married her high school sweetheart Timothy Donovan in 1969, and had two daughters Jennifer and Diana. The family relocated to Cape May, NJ in 1975. Lila worked at the Lobster House Restaurant for over 35 years. When she wasn't working, she was doing aerobics, riding her bike around town, or sitting on Philadelphia Ave beach. She had an amazing green thumb, and her house was always filled with plants. Lila had a strong faith in God and was a longtime member of The First United Methodist Church in Cape May. Her greatest joy in life was being a Grandmother. Lila was widowed after 46 wonderful years with Tim. She was blessed to find love again with Charles Frederick. They were married in 2010, and moved to Lusby MD. Lila and Charlie enjoyed traveling the world together. They spent their winters in Ft. Pierce FL. They were truly fortunate to have had 12 beautiful years together. Lila is predeceased by her parents, John and Lila Braden and her late husband Timothy Donovan. Lila is survived by her husband Charlie, her daughters Jennifer (John) Hoffman, and Diana (Tim) Poullott, sister Susan Braden-Farmer, grandchildren Jacob and Logan Poullott, Morgan and Noah Hoffman, step children Annette Jackson, Paul (Jill) Frederick, 8 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her sweet, gentle, considerate nature. Lila was a friend to all and loved by all who knew her, and will be deeply missed. Special thanks to Annette for her compassionate care of Lila during her illness. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
