Tamara "Tammy" Kaye Swarey, 52, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away suddenly on Monday, January 4, 2021 at UM Charles Regional Medical Center in LaPlata, MD. She was born on September 8, 1968 in Prince Frederick, MD, to John Benjamin Swarey and Melba Lee (Edgell) Swarey.

An educated woman with a drive to become the best version of herself, Tammy worked as the Assistant Director of Survey Support at NCQA. She made many wonderful friends and loved her position.

Tammy met the love of her life and companion, Russell Moore and they have been dedicated to each other for 22 years. She'd found her soul mate and planned to be by his side for many decades to come. Their love was perfect for them and the life they shared comfortable.

She loved to camp and found peace under a canopy of trees with the warmth of a campfire. Tammy would happily turn on her 80's rock music and dance around. She knew every word to the songs and would make sure you sang along with her. She loved to go the Moose Lodge and hang out with her friends. A great cook, she made wonderful meals for Russell, family and her friends. She always had an extra plate to share the delicious food she created.

Tammy is survived by her life partner, Russell Moore of Mechanicsville, MD; mother, Melba Lee Swarey (step-father, David Hoch) of Mechanicsville, MD; father, John Swarey, Sr. (step-mother, Tham Swarey); sister, Jennifer Lynn Fulkerson of Stephenson, VA; step-sister, Tu Nguyen of Hawaii; and many extended members. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Benjamin Swarey, Jr., Eric Ryan Swarey and Gregory Bryan Swarey.

The family will receive friends for Tammy's Life Celebration on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Remembrance Service at 11:00 a.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
