George Edwin Spooner, Sr., 84, of Waldorf, MD, passed away November 23, 2008, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Born August 9, 1924, in Bremerton, WA, he was the son of the late Edwin George Spooner and the late Lillian Lockford Spooner.

Visitation will be Friday, November 28, 2008, at Raymond Funeral Chapel, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Raymond Funeral Chapel, beginning at 11AM. Rev. Steve Merki will officiate. Interment will take place Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Maryland Veteran's Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the World War II Memorial, In Memory of George Edwin Spooner, Sr., Superintendent of the National Mall and Memorial Parks, The National Park Service, Department of the Interior, 900 Ohio Drive, SW, Washington, DC 20024.
