Helen Marie Lauer, 88 of Leonardtown, MD and formerly of York, PA died November 24, 2008 at St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born June 11, 1920 in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Rosellen Lau Ehrhart.

She was the loving wife of the late Paul P. Lauer whom she married on April 29, 1939 in York, PA.

She is survived by her children Terry L. Lauer of Hollywood, MD, Dean J. Lauer of York, PA and Dr. Lonnie C. Lauer of Bridgeton, ME as well as seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings; Lorraine Campbell, Dorie Becker, George Ehrhart and Niles E. Ehrhart.

Helen graduated from William Penn Sr. High School "Class of 1937" and moved to St. Mary's County in July 2004 from York, PA. She was an instructor of needle point and crewel and belonged to the Embroider's Guild of America and was a past president of the White Rose Chapter.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
