William Arnett Herndon, 70, of Port Tobacco, Maryland, passed away on July 2, 2020 at his home.

Born on February 20, 1950 in Weston, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Arnett Dayton Herndon and Emma Josephine Herndon. Mr. Herndon worked as a manager for Underwood Used Auto Parts, also worked at Friendly Motors on Allentown Road, was a heavy equipment operator and was the owner/operator of his own dump truck.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judith Ann Herndon; brothers Chuck and Wayne Herndon.

Mr. Herndon is survived by his children Kim R. Hammonds and her husband Rodney, David L. Peterson and his wife Nicole, William A. Herndon Jr. and his wife Raechelle; grandchildren Rebecca, Carrie, Julia, James, Aron, Nate, Tristen, Shawn, Mikela, Larrisa, Jonathan, Gabriel, and Isaiah; great grandchildren Winter and a set of twins on the way.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 10AM until time of service at 12Noon at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646

Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road in Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
