Malcolm Vivien Morris, 85, of Leonardtown, MD, passed away on November 20, 2008 in the St. Mary's Nursing Center after suffering with cancer.
Born June 21, 1923 in Loveville, MD, he was the son of the late Storer Miles and Agnes Helen Pussler Morris. Mr. Morris served in the United States Navy in the Pacific during WWII, was discharged March 1946 and married Charlotte Lambert on April 21, 1946. In 1926 his parents moved to Baltimore, MD where he attended School # 208, Curtis Bay, Ben Franklin Jr. High, Polytechnic. He went to work for Western Electric, Point Breeze from age 18, retiring in July 1972 as a Machinist. He moved to Pamplin, VA to farm and back to Maryland in September 1988 on his Uncle Wilmer Pussler's farm. He was a conservationist, environmentalist and farmer. His passion was farming, raising a garden, watching the deer and eagles on the farm and the geese as they landed on the pond. Mr. Morris was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2632, California, MD. In addition to his wife, Mr. Morris is survived by his daughter; Patricia Ann Prosey, (Joe) of Leonardtown, MD, grandchildren; Vicki L. Croucier, (Juan) of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, John C. Morris, (Brandi) of Orlando, FL, great-grandchildren; Ryan C. Croucier of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Logan E. Morris and Lucas E. Morris of Orlando, FL. Malcolm was preceded in death by his son, John R. Morris in January 1979 and his sister Wilhelmina VanDyke in September 1997. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 from 5pm until 8pm in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, MD where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 7pm with Father Joseph Dobson officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 10am in Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Glen Burnie, MD. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Mary's County - Unit 350, P.O. Box 1032, Lexington Park, MD 20653.
