Karen Diane Lemmon, 50, of Lusby, MD died November 18, 2008 at her home after a prolonged and courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born April 12, 1958 in Kitlery, ME, she was the daughter of the late Glynn Alden Waldrop and Norma Elaine (Daniels) Waldrop. She was a Southern Maryland resident for 14 years. Karen was a career civil servant with the Department of the Navy and had worked aboard NAS Patuxent River for many years. She was a member of Southpoint Church in Leonardtown. Her limitless optimism and unshakeable faith in God were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her love for travelling was matched only by her love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her three children, Timothy Holter of Orlando, FL, Kristin Lemmon of Virginia Beach, VA, and Rebecca Lemmon of Philadelphia, PA, four grandchildren, Brydgit Lorraine, Daniel Holter, Emma Holter, and Gabrielle Dewey, three sisters, Tanya Banks of Hendersonville, NC, and Judy Lee and Michelle Mahoney, both of Mountain Grove, MO, and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends for Karen's Life Celebration on Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Prayers will be recited at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Chapel aboard NAS Patuxent River, MD. Matt Hall, pastor of Southpoint Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Hospice, P.O.
