Cynthia Wise DeBosky died October 28, 2008 at Calvert Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born November 20, 1947 in Roanoke, Virginia to John F. Sr. and Josephine "Jody" Grisso Wise.

She was raised in Hyattsville, MD, and graduated from Duval High School in 1965. She married Avrom S. DeBosky at age 19, and they lived in Prince George's County until moving to Huntingtown in 1975.

She was a homemaker, and after the death of her husband in 1980 she took over his Washington Post newspaper distributorship delivering papers to Hyattsville, Bladensburg and Riverdale, MD. She retired from her distributorship in 2005.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family, especially during holidays. She enjoyed cooking, reading and taking and collecting photographs. She also enjoyed the outdoors and tending to her yard plantings.

She was preceded in death by her husband Avrom, known as Buddy, her mother Josephine "Jody" Wise, and her good friend James "Duke" Davis.

Cynthia is survived by her daughters Robin Wheatfall (Marcine) and Sarah E. "Beth" DeBosky, sons Jason DeBosky (Ligia Canchez) and Benjamin DeBosky, step-daughters Jackie Nolan and Eileen Trott, a step-son Alan DeBosky, her father John F. Wise, Sr., brothers John F. Wise, Jr. and Boyd Wise, and grandchildren Sophia, Vivian and Ashton.
