Joseph Raymond Adams, 83, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on August 9, 2019 in Callaway, MD surrounded by his family.

Most commonly referred to as "Snuffy", he was born on October 26, 1935 in Waldorf, Maryland to the late John "Jack" William Adams and Sarah Helen Coombs - Adams. Joseph married the love of his life Katie Blanche Mc Bee in 1956 and together they raised their family in Waldorf, Maryland. Joseph and Katie were married for 63 years. He retired in 2000 from Southern Maryland Gas Company after a 50 year career as a Service Technician. Shortly after retirement, Snuffy and Katie relocated to Maynardville, Tennessee where he enjoyed retirement life, before returning to Maryland in January 2019. His hobbies included fishing, crabbing and going to the race track. Snuffy also enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, and listening to Country music.

Joseph is survived by his wife, three children, Joseph Adams (Nancy) of Virginia, Robert Adams of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Lisa Miller (Paul) of Maynardville Tennessee; seven (7) grandchildren and twelve (12) great-grandchildren, and sister in law Grace Adams of Waldorf Maryland. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, son (Michael P. Adams) and his siblings (Russell Adams, Mary Lou Gardner, Marvin Adams, Marie Adams, Estell Montgomery, and Agnes Alluman).

Pall bearers will be Joseph Adams, Robert Adams, Scott Adams, Sean Adams, Tony Adams and Eric Adams.

The family will receive friends for Joseph's Visitation on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD. Deacon William Kyte from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mechanicsville will officiate a Funeral Service beginning at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD 20735.
