Phyllis Irene "Nana" Linkins, 91, of Prince Frederick, died at home on Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Branxton, Australia on April 9th, 1917.

She met and then married James Linkins in Sydney, Australia during WWII, came to live in the US in 1946, and started a family. She was preceded in death by her husband, and survived by 3 sons, Paul (wife Diane), Dennis (wife Trish), Michael, and one daughter, Jan Messick-Hobbs (husband Tommy). She was also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer, Whitney, Michael, Lisa, Tammy, Wesley, Christine, Bonnie and Amber, as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

Nana deeply touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a very welcomed patient and friend of many at Calvert Internal Medicine, Calvert Oncology, and the Infusion Center at Calvert Memorial Hospital. She was always cheerful, and thankful for the care she received in spite of her lengthy battle with cancer. Throughout her years she endeared herself to all she met with her quick smile, kind words, and giving heart. Nana always said "I am the luckiest and the happiest old dame living!" She will be very dearly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Calvert County Hospice, or Calvert Memorial Hospital's Infusion Center. Arrangements have been provided by Rausch Funeral Home in Port Republic, MD, and there her family will receive friends on Monday Oct 20, 2008 between 2-4pm and again between 6-8pm.
Mass will be held at St John Vianney Catholic Church, Prince Frederick on Tuesday October 21, 2008 at 11am with the internment following at Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
