Catherine Anna Proctor of Waldorf, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Civista Hospital in La Plata, Maryland.

Catherine was educated in the Charles County Public School System. In 1964 she acquired employment with the Department of the Navy, Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC, from which she retired. She then proceeded to manage the family owned establishment, known to all as "Proctor's Inn." Her primary enjoyments were spending time with her sisters and children, going to the casinos, and working in the yard.

On December 26, 1953, at St. Catherine's Church, McConchie, Maryland, she was united in marriage with the late James Lester Proctor. From this union were born seven children: Celestine (Celeste) Ford, Joseph (Joe), James (Chris), Randy (Terry), William (Gary), Vermae, and Gerel Proctor.

Catherine was the seventh of eleven children born from the marriage of the late William and Susie Anna Queen. She was preceded in death by daughter Vermae Proctor, son Gerel Proctor, grandson Kiko Proctor, brother John (Jimmy) Queen, four sisters: Louise Proctor, Annie Burton, Wilberta Freeland, and Isidora Proctor, and three brothers-in-law: George Freeland, Louis Reeves, and Freddie Buster.

To cherish her memory, Catherine leaves: one son-in-law, Kenneth Ford; four daughters-in-law: Maxine, Iris, Theresa, and Joyce; thirteen grandchildren: Trina Ford, Joseph (Carlos) Proctor, Erica Ford, Marquis Proctor, James (J.C.) Proctor, Jeneka Proctor, Randy (Tio) Proctor, Tera Proctor, Delontay Proctor, Andre Proctor, Cordell (Chris) Belfield, Maurice Belfield, and Marcus Belfield; eleven great-grandchildren: Jariah Proctor, Dezyre Hawkins, Keith James, Jazell Holland, Jeremiah Proctor, Jashae Proctor, Malik Belfield, Isaiah Belfield, Monia Belfield, Maurice Belfield, Jr., Anmarie Belfield; two grand-daughters-in-law: Jamala Proctor and Crystal Belfleld; six sisters: Naomi Proctor, Dollie Reeves, Pauline Collins, Cecelia Young, Delores Buster, and June Proctor; five sisters-in- law: Eulalia Thompson, Evelyn Pickeral, Mae Proctor, Doris Shirriel, Shirley Proctor, and Joyce Proctor; eight brother in-laws: James (Sonny) Proctor, Percell (Perry) Shirriel, Michael (Mike) Proctor, Leroy Young, and Joseph Proctor.

Her services were held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
