Nicole Geary "Nikki" Phelan of Great Mills, Maryland formerly of Waldorf, MD, died onThursday, September 18, 2008 at the Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in La Plata, MD. She was 22 years old.

Born on November 16, 1985 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Sandra L. Parker Hawthorn and Dana E. Geary. Nikki was a graduate of Westlake High School and a student at the College of Southern Maryland. She loved art and enjoyed taking care of her two dogs, two cats, and a variety of fish. She was a member of the Quilter's Guild in Waldorf, MD.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Sean Phelan; step-father Jerome P. Hawthorn; step-mother Kristine Geary; brother Cody A. Geary; maternal great grandmother Rita A. Wade; maternal grandparents Peter and Elizabeth Tinella, Harold and Marilyn Parker; Paternal grandparents Robert David Geary and Irene Elizabeth Geary; in-laws Michael J. Phelan and Patricia M. Phelan; also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A gathering will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 12Noon until time of remembrance service at 1PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD. Interment will be private. A memorial service in Gloucester, MA will be held at a later date.
