Mr. Stack was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during Word War II as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a Self-Employed General Contractor for 40 years with C W Stack & Associates. He was a member of the Virginia Gentlemen's Hunting Club of Bath County, VA and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter with a passion for animals such as horses and hunting dogs. He was the father to ten children, five boys and five girls, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was son of the late Oliver Jones Stack and the late Odis Iona Skidmore Stack

He was predeceased by his parents, one son, David B. Stack, two brothers, Donald M. Stack and Oliver Jones "Pete" Stack, and one sister, Nell S. Hardesty.

He is survived by his four sons, Clifford W. Stack, Jr. of Montclair, VA, Kevin Stack of MD, Jeff (Vicki) Stack of King George, VA, and Mark Stack of Nanjemoy, MD, five daughters, Cathy (George) Lagana of La Plata, MD, Debbie (Larry) Langley of Hugheville, MD, Lynn Novak of Montclair, VA, Lisa (Steve) Freeman of Bristow, VA, and Stephanie (Derek) Moore of Nanjemoy, MD, one brother, David M. Stack, and three sisters, Linda S. Patton, Elizabeth Stack, and Peggy Jean Hawley. Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2008 from 10am-12pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

A Funeral Service will follow on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 12pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD. Clergy will be the Father Ron Potts.

Interment will take place on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 2pm at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
