Lois Troostwyk Wilson, 80, of Waldorf, MD died July 1, 2008 at Washington Hospital Center from complications following a heart attack.
Born March 1, 1928 in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Troostwyk and Bertha Magid Troostwyk and her grandparents, the late Prof. Isidore Troostwyk, the first professor of violin at Yale Univeristy, and the late Erna Dessauer Troostwyk, a composer of music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Joseph Wilson, whom she met while working at the Pentagon. They were married in Washington D.C. on August 18, 1956. She worked for a telephone company in New Haven, Wanamaker's in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., Pargas in Waldorf, and retired from the Charles County Prescription Shop in Waldorf after 15 years, following the death of her husband in 1990. Her hobbies included playing the piano, painting ceramics, puzzle books, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Mrs. Susan Wynn and her husband Thomas of Delmar, MD and Mrs. Barbara W. Ott and her husband Robert of Waldorf, MD; sister, Mrs. Rheta D. Cozzolino and her husband Salvatore of Upper Montclair, NJ; brother-in-law, Mr. Robert M. Wilson; grandchildren, Thomas P. Wynn II and Jennifer M. Wynn, Kaitlyn M. Ott and Laura N. Ott; nieces, Mrs. Katharine Dowell, Ms. Nancy Trewhella, Mrs. Patricia Whigham, Mrs. Carol Dole, and Mrs. Roger Cozzolino; nephews, Mr. Paul H. Wilson and Mr. Peter Cozzolino; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service. |
